The light energy delivered by the BBR will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. Any area of the body can be treated. The most common areas are those exposed to the damaging effects of sun light. The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, back of hands, décolletage and shoulders. Usually 2-5 treatments at 2-4 week intervals are needed. This is a non-invasive gentle and painless treatment, often described as a shot of heat that dissipates immediately after. There is absolutely no downtime, you will be able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities right away.

After the treatment, you may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions you will see a darkening of the treated area followed by fading and flaking at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, and sun spots or uneven pigmentation will fade. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.

Pigmentation & Vascular Rejuvenation

 

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments are great for targeting pigmented and Vascular lesions , often the cause of  sun damage.

      

A fully trained therapist will apply a specially designed hand piece to your treatment area and generate rapid light pulses of variable wavelengths, which will be absorbed by the targeted chromophores (such as melanin in pigmentation or freckles and Haemoglobin (blood) in Vascular Lesions) in your skin. The light from the hand piece is delivered at high intensity during a very short period of time.

It is this rapid emitting of light that provides the high energy levels required for each IPL treatment to be effective! The light is converted into heat energy which destroys the targeted area through controlled thermal damage, while ensuring surrounding healthy tissue remains untouched.

IPL is not overly painful, you may feel a slight sensation of discomfort with each application throughout the treatment.

​

The Recommended number of treatments for vascular and pigmented lesions is 4– 6 treatments at 4-6 weeks apart.
